Pigeons: Chest Out and Paris Walking

August 11 – Fantail white pigeon at the Wisconsin State Fair showing a behavior I had not seen before. He fanned his tail and put his chest out so high his head sunk back. He could not even see beyond it. Then he would stand on the tip of his toes and rock back and forth at the male pigeon in the cage next to him to show how big and strong he was. It was quite comical to watch, making him quite the crowd pleaser.

August 12 -14 – I finally had my pictures from a trip to Paris last spring developed. I noticed in the Notre Dame photos the variety of leg positions the pigeons showed, so my sketch a day became a pigeon silhouette walk a day. What personality in each.
