The sketch a day has continued even with teaching and time intensive art projects. Admittedly, it has not been a perfect run for this little book the last four weeks. There are a couple weeks of missing days. The upside is that I had blank pages to make larger pictures, to make up for the absence, as you will see below.
September 4 – 7: People and Dogs – Drawn from photos taken in France and Ireland. The first three from France and the last Ireland. September 4 and 5 are Parisians and their dogs, while the 6th was taken from a dog walker resting with her beagles outside the gates of Versailles. September 7 was a girl wearing cool blue boots and a red striped shirt, with her border collie, exploring the lake at Wicklow National Park.
September 8 – 11 represent days of missed sketches so I filled it up with one image. Building off the previous drawing of the little girl and her dog, it is the Upper Lake at Wicklow National Park in Glendalough, where the pair enjoyed wading.
September 12: A tortoise from the Milwaukee County Zoo
September 13 – 15: Sleepy pets surrounding me. They are always dependable back-up art models at the end of the day especially when you need to catch up on daily drawings. 🙂
September 16 – 19: “Colorado Cuties”: Those adorable rodents that seems to pop up from rocks when you sit down for a bite to eat.
September 20 – 23: Days missed once again so it was time for a big sketch. A sleepy marmot on a rock represented well how I was feeling, after a local plein air competition…and how I am feeling now. Time for bed!
